The Selection process was divided
into two major categories. The function and layout of the center was developed using this thinking.
The design center would also
be organized in a way so that there is a definite flow or path a consultant might take a customer on. Although transparent
to the buyer, the consultant would use this as a tool to remember all items to be discussed.
First the buyer needs to make
some "primary" decisions. These would include: Flooring, Cabinets, and Countertops. This would include Kitchens and baths.
Since this is typically the highest priority of options and usually the largest ticket items of the session the largest most
comfortable area was allotted in the back area of the studio. There are two work tables so that two consecutive appointments
could exist.
Next the buyer makes "Secondary"
decisions. These would include such items as: Faucets, Lights, Fans, and Appliances. These items would be displayed in both
bath and kitchen vignettes throughout the center with several resting/discussion areas.
